Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") outline the rules and expectations for participation in Venture Folk Retreat ("Retreat"). By booking a spot at the Retreat, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not attend the Retreat.

Purchases & Payments

To secure your spot at Venture Folk Retreat, a 20% non-refundable retainer is required at the time of booking. Payment plans are available, and full payment must be completed by June 30, 2025.

By making a purchase, you confirm that:

  1. You have the legal right to use any payment method provided.

  2. The information you provide is accurate and complete.

  3. You understand that all payments are final, and refunds are not available except as stated below.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Once your payment is made, your spot is non-refundable, but fully transferable. If you can’t attend, you are responsible for finding someone to take your place.

If, for any reason, Venture Folk Retreat does not meet the required minimum number of participants, we reserve the right to cancel the event. In this case, a full refund of your ticket will be issued. However, external costs such as flights, accommodation outside of the retreat, or other personal expenses will not be reimbursed.

The Retreat is rain, hail, or shine—just like a wedding, we go ahead regardless of the weather! If unforeseen circumstances force us to cancel the event, a full refund of payments made to Venture Folk Retreat will be issued.

What’s Included?

Your ticket covers:

  • Three full days of workshops, styled shoots, and networking.

  • Education from industry-leading photographers and business experts.

  • Access to exclusive styled shoots to build your portfolio.

  • Headshots by our in-house photographers.

  • Majority of meals, drinks, and snacks throughout the event.

  • Beautiful accommodation (own bed, but shared rooms; queen beds available for couples on request).

  • A farewell alfresco dinner under the stars to celebrate the retreat and reflect on your experience.

  • Epic swag bags and other special surprises!

What’s Not Included?

  • Travel to and from Byron Bay, including flights.

  • Car hire or transport between shoot locations (carpooling is recommended, and we’re happy to help connect attendees).

  • Some snacks & breakfast on the first day.

  • Travel insurance (highly recommended).

  • Any personal expenses outside the retreat schedule.

Portfolio Use & Vendor Tags

Absolutely! You are encouraged to use images from the styled shoots in your portfolio. A list of vendors will be provided, and we ask that you credit them appropriately when sharing your images.

Nearest Airport & Transportation

  • Ballina Byron Gateway Airport (BNK) – 30 mins away

  • Gold Coast Airport (OOL) – 45 mins away

  • Brisbane Airport (BNE) – 2 hrs away

Car hire is the best way to get around, and we encourage carpooling between locations for a smoother experience.

Start & End Times

  • August 6, 2025 – 8:00 AM: Welcome Breakfast with Carissa, Graeme, Kelly, and Vanessa.

  • August 8, 2025 – Late Night: Wrap-up with a stunning alfresco dinner under the stars.

  • August 9, 2025 – 10:00 AM: Checkout.

This retreat is fully immersive—unlike many workshops that start halfway through the first day and end early on the last, we are making use of every moment so you walk away with the most value possible. That’s why checkout is on Saturday morning, August 9th.

Intellectual Property & Content Usage

All materials, including presentations, photos, recordings, and workshop content, are the intellectual property of Venture Folk Retreat. By attending the event, participants consent to being photographed, filmed, and recorded throughout the retreat, with the content used for future digital products, marketing, and promotional purposes. Content may not be copied, distributed, or repurposed for commercial use without written permission. If an attendee wishes not to be recorded, they must notify the Organiser in writing at least 7 days prior to the event.

Conduct & Prohibited Activities

As an attendee, you agree to:

  • Respect all participants, vendors, and speakers.

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines during the event.

  • Avoid disrupting workshops or styled shoots.

  • Not reproduce, sell, or distribute retreat content without permission.

Liability & Disclaimer

By attending Venture Folk Retreat, you acknowledge that:

  • You participate at your own risk and are responsible for your own well-being.

  • Venture Folk Retreat is not liable for personal injury, lost/stolen belongings, or unforeseen circumstances affecting travel.

  • Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Modifications & Changes

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. If a scheduled speaker is unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, we will provide an alternative.
